SINGARAJA
Departure from the hotel at 8:30 am
Tour Duration: 3 hours
 |
This
tour will take you for a visit of Singaraja, the capital
of the Buleleng Regency. During colonial times this now
quaint town was the capital of Bali, a bustling seaport
where Makassar sailors and Chinese trader sold their spices
and wares to the Dutch East Indies. |
Beautiful old house built in pure Dutch colonial style is living
testimony of bygone riches. You will visit the "Gedong Kirtya",
a manuscript library housing collections of ancient hand written
texts of Balinese literature.
A stop at the local market precedes the visit to the "Beji Temple"
dedicated to the rice goddess "Dewi Sri". This temple, where
a rich variety of sculptures cover every available space, is
a fine example of the polychromatic northern architectural style.
On the way back to the hotel you will stop at "Air Sanih", a
beautiful landscaped natural cool fresh water spring right on
the beach adjacent to the sea, forming a very pleasant and the
large pool. |
