GENERAL INFORMATION

The region of Jembrana covers about 841,80 sq. kilometers, considered to be less visited by tourists. "Unspoiled area", said many visitors. The virginity of its land is still maintained. Its mountainous range stretching in northern side and its beaches stretching along the southern
sides are beautiful sights. The sunrise above mountainous range appears at 06.22 in the morning and sunset appears at 06.30 in the evening seen from along the Southern Coasts where the fishermen do their own daily task. The coast owned by the region is a black sandy beach, about 71 kms, from the main gate, Gilimanuk in the west and the village of Pangeragoan in the east.

Located in west part of Bali, Jembrana is a tourist destination. Jembrana is best known for its Mekepung, or traditional buffalo race. The regency even calls itself "the land of the Mekepung". The Mekepung was originally held as part of the harvest festivities. It uses the carts and buffaloes that were used until quite recently as a means of transportation and which originated in Java.
