THE THREE COLOURED LAKES ADVENTURE

Day 1: Maumere Arrival
On arrival at Waioti Airport, Maumere, we drive 12 km to eastern
Maumere to check-in at Flores Sao Resort for meals and overnight
accommodation. (D) |
Day 2: Maumere - Kelimutu - Maumere
After an early morning breakfast at 3.30 am, we'll drive 108
km to Kelimutu Volcano to see the three colored lakes. The route
to the summit includes a 1.5-km walk followed by a climb up
127 steps. Once there, view Kelimutu's amazing green, blue and
black lakes. A Dutch Geologist discovered Kelimutu in 1914.

lakes were red, blue and white. We then descend to Moni Village to
see beautiful hand woven clothes and to visit Kowanara Village famous
for its traditional Lionese houses. Lunch will be served at a local
restaurant in Wolowaru. After lunch, we continue to Wolosoko, a village
perched on a hill overlooking the main road followed by our return
to Maumere with several stops made according to local events. Dinner
and overnight at the Hotel Saoria Wisata or similar. (BLD)
Day 3: Maumere
Our tour continues with a visit to Wuring Village to see houses
built on stilts over the sea. Next, we drive up to Ledalero,
a major Catholic Seminary to visit the museum with its various
collection of old portraits of local royal families, unique
hand woven clothes and stagedeon fossils. Proceed to Sikka Village,
a center of |

Ikat
weaving to see the traditional weaving process and a 16th Century
church. Later, return to the hotel. (BLD)
Day 04 Maumere - Departure
Transfer to the airport to depart for your next destination.

FLORES OVERLAND TOUR

Day 1: Labuhan Bajo - Ruteng
This tour begins at Labuhan Bajo, West Florest, in the morning
we drive overland to Ruteng, a cool and small town and also
the capital city of the Manggarai Regency where major Manggarainese
tribes dwell. On the way, stops will be made at Lembor and Cancar
where you can enjoy the beautiful backdrop panorama of rice
fields and lush hills. Other places may be visited according
to local events. Upon arrival, we will check-in at the Hotel
Dahlia or similar. Afterwards, we will pay a visit to Ruteng
Puu - a Manggarainese traditional village, to see their unique
slanted houses and meet with local people before returning to
the hotel. (LD) |
Day 2: Ruteng - Bajawa
In the early morning, we take a refreshing walk up Golo Curu
Hill to witness a golden sunrise and enjoy panoramic views of
Ranaka the highest peak in Flores (+2400m) situated in the background
of Ruteng. We then return to the hotel for breakfast before
departing to Bajawa with en route stops at mano. There, we'll
see rice terraces and take a short walk through a tropical rain
forest. If it's not cloudy you will see Anamese Crater Lake.
We then continue driving to Aimere Village to see the distillation
of Arak and the tapping of fresh palm juice. A lunch box is
provided en route. Upon arrival in Bajawa, we will check-in
at the Ariesta Hotel or similar. (BLD) |
Day 3: Bajawa - Bena - Detusoko
This morning, we set off for Bena passing bamboo plantations
and the picture perfects Inerie Volcano before finally arriving
at Bena Village. Here you will see traditional houses and huge
stone-groves. The meaning of Ngadhu and Bhaga-symbolised male
and female ancestral spirits will also be explained to you.

to drive, towards Mataloko to see a coffee plantation, then to Penggajawa
Beach where blue stones have become the source of income for the local
people. Lunch will be served in Ende. After lunch we continue touring
to Detusoko Village where we'll be accommodated at Missionary guesthouse.

Day 4: Detusoko - Kelimutu - Maumere
Depart at 3.30 am and drive 108 km to Kelimutu Volcano to see
the three colored lakes. The route includes a 1.5-km walk followed
by a climb up 127 steps to the summit to view Kelimutu's green

box will be provided at the top. After breakfast, we descend
to the Ranggase, traditional village in Jopu. Lunch will be
served at Paga Beach Restaurant followed by a visit to a museum
at Ladelero Village and then on to Wuring Village. We proceed
to Maumere with possible stops made en route according to local
events. Accommodation and dinner will be at the Flores Sao Resort.

Day 5: Maumere
The morning is at leisure for relaxation and swimming at the
beach until lunch. After lunch, we drive to Watublapi Village
to see a dance performance and weaving demonstration by the
villagers before returning to hotel. (BLD) |
Day 6: Departure
After breakfast at the hotel you will be transferred to the
airport to depart for your next destination. (B) |
